A warm welcome to our Ruby Class Page!
Ruby class is taught by Miss E. Addis (Class Teacher) and Mrs L. Dunsmuir (Teaching
Assistant). We are an inquisitive and enthusiastic group who enjoy rolling numbers and problem solving!
Our topic this term is Rivers and Settlements and our big question is: ‘Why is the River Wye so important to Hereford? Where would you choose to build a Settlement?’ Please see our topic overview on our class page for more information about the links to our big question.
Spelling tests will take place on a Friday and new spellings will be given out on the Friday. Homework will be handed out on Friday each week and will generally be linked to what we have been learning about in class. Homework will be collected in on Wednesday.
Each child has a reading book and a reading record and it would be gratefully appreciated if you could take the time to listen to your child read at home. All children should be reading at every night at home and it is important that this is signed off in reading records. Reading books, records and graffiti spelling books should be brought to school every day.
Children will have their PE session with a Sports Company on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Ruby class will be learning French with Mrs Dunsmuir on a Wednesday afternoon. We are looking at French numbers, the alphabet and pets this half term.
Awesome Authors with Miss Addis
Every Tuesday after school
Miss Addis hosts her writing club every Tuesday afterschool at 3.15pm until 4.15pm. The children relax; look at a variety of writing ideas. This club is open to all children in KS2 and all writing can be taken home after.
