Clehonger CE School is situated in the village of Clehonger on the outskirts of Hereford City and just a few minutes from Belmont.
We have 112 children on roll from the age of 4 up to the age of 11. The school was first built in 1969 and has since been extended with 3 further classes. In April 2015, the governors opened our pre-school, Little Gems, which caters for children from the age of 2 years old.
When children first join Clehonger they are assigned to a 'house', Oak, Elm, Holly or Birch which are names we have taken from streets in our local village. The children are awarded team points for doing fantastic work, being kind or polite and for general good behaviour. They also participate in team events and work together in houses. Each year children in the house vote and elect their captain and vice captain.
Life at Clehonger is designed to keep the body and mind fresh and challenged. We offer a range of lunch and after school activities for the children to enjoy, such as lego, bellplates, songs for fun, football and recorders.
We are keen fundraisers for charity and always join in for the Sports/Comic relief and Children in Need.
The Clehonger carnival is a highlight in the summer and the school is fully involved with this. We also take part in community projects; appearing at the Courtyard for several years running. Where possible, we have visiting teachers to enthuse and share their expertise, such as Pedro - as fabulous international musician.
The school organises trips for the classes and Years 5 and 6 have a residential every year to look forward to.
