Welcome to Emeralds
Mrs Sage (Class Teacher)
Mrs Gage & Mrs Rawlings (Teaching and Support Assistants)
Welcome back to the new school year and to Emeralds!
We are starting this year with a wonderful book called ‘The Goldfish Boy’; surprisingly, nothing to do with goldfish! The main character suffers from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and hasn't been to school in weeks. He finds himself at the centre of a high-stakes mystery, and every one of his neighbours is a suspect. He is the key to figuring it out. Reading plays a big part in our classroom as it inspires our writing and discussions.
We will be easing ourselves back into learning; initially starting with short, concise activities, recapping and consolidating before introducing new learning.
P.E. takes place on a Thursday. PE kits should be worn on that day to school – no bags to be brought in. P.E. kits consist of dark shorts/tracksuit, white T-shirt and trainers. A black hoodie/jumper is also recommended.
Forest Schools will take place on Friday afternoon, spending most of the time outside in the Nature garden. Old clothes to be worn on Friday – again, no change of clothes to be brought in.
