At Clehonger, we aim to create great designers, encouraging our children to use their creativity and imagination to research, design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, both independently and in collaboration with others.
Children will combine practical skills with an understanding of aesthetic, social and environmental issues, as well as functions and industry.
They will be given opportunities to reflect upon and evaluate past and present technology, its uses and its effectiveness. Children will also be taught to critically evaluate their product against their original design criteria and refine their work accordingly.
Our curriculum is linked to three main areas:
Many of our DT projects also have cross curricular links with other subject areas.
