Religious Education

In Clehonger C of E Primary School, we follow the Herefordshire RE syllabus provided alongside the “Understanding Christianity” resource. Within lessons, we use questions so that pupils can actively reflect, investigate and make meaning of relationships, the world and God.

We believe this curriculum to be challenging and creative. The children are encouraged to ask and answer questions and to search to understand faith and religion in a purposeful and meaningful way, appropriate to their level of understanding. Children are told the RE lessons are a ‘safe place’ to ask questions.

Our syllabus now covers 50% Christianity and 50% other faiths.

These include Judaism, Hinduism and Islam and Buddhism.
